Now entering it’s second year in existence, the Westside Community Garden continues to grow. After a very short first season due to a late start, this second season of community gardening is off to a great start!
Come back and check out our blog posts as we grow.

Come back and visit often as our gardens and our friendships grow!
The first gardens look great! And they are getting lots of attention by those walking and driving by. What a great idea!
Another great day for gardening. There are so many things that can be planted now and enjoyed. I was really amazed when I started my research. The biggest hurdle was finding seeds this late. Guess I will have to order my turnips. Next year, I’ll plan ahead. It’s really exciting to see the plots fill up and see how people lay them out. Each one is different. We have a great mixture of flowers and vegetables. What a wonderful use of a vacant lot. Hope people come to see our garden grow. Thanks Val for leading the way on this project!
Love your blog, would like to find out how the west side gardens are going, and how west-side development plan is going. I have a blog; http://www.mcleancountypundit.com I’d like to talk to you in-depth and see what’s going on on the west side and talk about it; let me know. You can reach me at kathymichael@verizon.net Thanks and good luck with everything.
I’m excited. The garden is going to see 4-5 additional months this year as we got off to a very late start but everyone enjoyed considerable yields and a great garden festival in 2008. I’m meeting news friends and even some old ones at the garden. The neighborhood has found something to rally around and, as gardening often appears, is truly magical.
This going to be a great year for the garden. And what a diverse group of gardeners and friends.
